Executive Director Andrea Collins will step down after eight years at the helm of the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce, marking the end of a significant era for the Chamber. Known for her leadership and dedication, Collins will step down to pursue opportunities in the gig economy, focusing on interior design and consulting with Olive Orchard and Collins + Dixon Interior Design.

Reflecting on her tenure, Collins remarked on the gratitude she feels after a notable eight-year journey, during which the Chamber became debt-free and expanded its membership base through innovative programs that promise long-term success. She expressed deep appreciation towards the Chamber's staff and Board of Directors for their support, and thanked the community for their encouragement.

Collins stated, “Reflecting on the past 8 years with the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce, I am filled with so much gratitude. It’s been an incredible journey, one that has allowed me to build meaningful relationships and witness firsthand the challenges and triumphs of businesses as they've navigated their growing pains."

Her departure is met with full support from the Chamber’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Board Chair Jackie Santoro acknowledged the difficulty in imagining the Chamber without Collins, yet voiced excitement for her new endeavors. Santoro said, “It’s a bittersweet moment as we accept Andrea Collins’ resignation as Executive Director of the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce. While I’m genuinely excited for Andrea as she steps into a new chapter, it’s hard to imagine the Chamber without her steady leadership, unwavering commitment, and genuine passion for our community and its businesses."

As Collins transitions, the Chamber remains committed to finding a successor who can carry forward her legacy. Applications for the new Executive Director role will be accepted until April 25, 2025. Interested candidates can find the job description at the Chamber's website.
