About 24.9 percent of the 2,464 degrees and certificates handed out by Valdosta State University in 2017-18 were to students in education programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Valdosta conferred 252 master's degrees and 217 certificates in education programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 125 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 99 bachelor's degrees in general psychology and 92 certificates in educational, instructional, and curriculum supervision.

The university enrolled 11,211 students for 2017-18, including 8,700 in undergraduate programs and 2,511 in graduate programs.
