FOIA Request Sent to Telfair County Election Department Regarding Ballot Counting Methods on October 29, 2024

FOIA Request to Telfair County Election Department Regarding Ballot Counting Methods on October 29, 2024.

In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at South Georgia Times have sent a request under the Georgia Open Records Act § 50.18.70 et seq., to the Telfair County Election Department. Our request is focused on obtaining information about the methods being used to count votes in the upcoming election.

We have specifically asked for details about whether the vote counting process will be manual or automated. If it is manually counted, we have requested an estimated number of people who will be working on election night.
