The only school district in Colquitt County faced declining enrollment in the 2022-23 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

There were 8,240 students in the halls of Colquitt County School District, 0.7% less than the year before.

Enrollment in Colquitt County was steady compared to the state's trend of decreasing enrollment.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52% of them were male, and 48% were female.

The most represented ethnicity among Colquitt County School District students was white, accounting for 39% of the student population.

Colquitt County School District has a main office in Moultrie and is the only school district within Colquitt County.

According to the Georgia Department of Education, over 1.6 million students were enrolled in Georgia's public schools during the 2021-22 school year. The state boasted a diverse and closely distributed student body across grade levels, with roughly 44% of the students in elementary, 24.5% in middle school, and 31.5% in high schools.

The state also registered an ethnically diverse student body, with 34.4% of the students identified as white, 36.5% as Black, 17.1% as Hispanic, and 4.5% as Asian.
