Atkinson County Education: Which school had most students enrolled in 2022-23 school year?

Pearson Elementary School had the highest enrollment among Atkinson County schools, welcoming 569 students during the 2022-23 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52% of them were male, and 48% were female.

The most represented ethnicity among Pearson Elementary School students was Hispanic, with 49% of students identifying as such.

Among the four schools in Atkinson County, Atkinson County High School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 442 students, while Atkinson County Middle School welcomed 365 students to be ranked third in the 2022-23 school year.

Pearson Elementary School is part of Atkinson County School District, which generally encompasses schools within Atkinson County, with its main office in Pearson.

In the previous school year, Pearson Elementary School also had the highest number of students among Atkinson County schools.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
