Lanier County Education: 1,608 students were enrolled in 2022-23 school year

There were 1,608 students enrolled in Lanier County schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.7% less than the previous year, according to reports from the Georgia Department of Education.

Boys made up 50.2% of the county's student body, while the other 49.8% were girls.

Data also showed that white students made up 58.8% of the student body, the largest percentage in Lanier County schools, followed by African American students with 26.4%, 8.4% Hispanic students, 4.2% multiracial students and 0.7% Asian students.

Lanier County High School stood out with the highest enrollment among Lanier County's four schools in the 2022-23 cycle, welcoming 445 students.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 15:1, which is better than the national average of 1:16. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
