Of the 8,269 citizens living in Atkinson County in 2021, 73.5% were old enough to vote, equating to 6,079 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 3,083 were male, constituting 50.7%, and 2,996 were female, making up 49.3%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Atkinson County during 2021 was lower than the state average, which stands at 76.2%.
