Saving Live. It's what we do.

Recently, a patient at SGMC Wound Care began feeling unwell upon arrival for an appointment and showed signs of difficulty breathing. Thankfully, Medical Director Dr. David Parker and Clinical Nurse Manager Mary Carter were in the right place at the right time.

Returning from lunch, they noticed the patient outside the clinic turning blue. When Dr. Parker was unable to find a pulse, he began chest compressions as our nurses quickly retrieved the clinic's Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and the front office coordinator activated emergency response.

Emergency medical services arrived and transported the patient to the hospital. Thanks to the Wound Care team's quick action, the patient made a full recovery and returned to the center less than a week later.
