SGMC EMS will soon add lifesaving technology to all of our ambulances. 

The new LUCAS devices are battery-operated CPR devices that provide chest compressions to adult patients in cardiac arrest. 

Implementing this device allows rescue first responders to complete other essential tasks, such as establishing access for medications and providing oxygen and ventilation to patients.

This week, we hosted training classes for Lowndes County Fire Rescue and Valdosta Fire Department personnel and emergency department nursing staff to become familiar with the device before it is implemented.
