Beginning tomorrow and through the weekend, Lowndes County will experience the coldest temperatures our area has seen in nearly five years. These conditions are a result of an arctic air mass that is moving through our area. As the cold front comes in, it will bring a small amount of rain with it. Temperatures are expected to plummet quickly within a few hours of the front passing and a hard freeze will be the main threat for the weekend.
Lowndes County Emergency Management wants to remind residents of the 4 P’s ahead of the bitter cold- People, Pets, Pipes, and Plants.
