South Georgia Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Dec. 16.
Governor Brian Kemp today announced that Rivian, one of the fastest-growing electric vehicle companies in the United States, is investing in an assembly plant within the boundaries of the Joint Development Authority of Jasper, Morgan, Newton & Walton Counties.
The proposed plant location is another major win for rural Georgia and the growing I-20 corridor.
“Rivian’s economic commitment to Georgia is another testament to our world leading business climate. The Chamber would like to thank Governor Kemp and the Economic Development department as well as the local community teams on this important win for the new Georgia economy,” said Georgia Chamber President & CEO Chris Clark. “It’s a testament to the pro-jobs, pro-free enterprise efforts that show how business and government work together to create prosperity for all Georgians.”
