Southern Regional Technical College issued the following announcement on Jul. 14.

Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) experienced Georgia’s highest percentage growth rate in traditional enrollment for the summer semester, according to official data released from the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) data center on June 25, 2021. Traditional enrollment refers to credit classes taken by college students who are not taking part in a high school dual enrollment program. The new students resulted in an 8.7 percent increase in the size of the student body, which significantly outpaced the state average loss of -0.8 percent among the state’s technical colleges. As of July 12, SRTC’s enrollment for the fall semester, which begins August 17, is on track to continue its pattern of growth.

“Strong enrollment growth is a welcome sign that we are returning to normal,” said SRTC President Jim Glass. “Through all of 2020 and 2021, SRTC’s faculty and staff have worked tremendously hard to help each student achieve success, stay in school, and graduate on time. For new students enrolling at our college, they are seeing us as a first choice. Small classes supported by free tutoring, affordable tuition, financial aid, job placement, and excellent customer service are paramount in helping new students make their decisions.”

This positive enrollment news comes on the heels of the accreditation reaffirmation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SCASCOC), which was announced July 1, 2021. The SACSCOC is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states. It serves as the common denominator of shared values and practices among the diverse institutions that award associate, baccalaureate, master’s, or doctoral degrees.

SRTC offers over 130 degree, diploma, and certificate programs that are designed to get you quickly into your desired career, and 28 general education courses that transfer to the University System of Georgia institutions and 19 private colleges and universities in Georgia. SRTC has instructional sites located in Colquitt, Decatur, Early, Grady, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole, Thomas, Tift, Turner, and Worth counties for the convenience of our students. The College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). SACSCOC is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states.
