Cost of college was unchanged for all students at Valdosta State University

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at Valdosta State University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Georgia residents paid $6,410 to attend the four-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-residents paid 168.3 percent more than residents this year, or $17,196. Their price tag was unchanged from $17,196 in 2017-18.

About 78 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Georgia residents. About 21 percent are residents of other states and 1 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 90 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 1,499 students received grants or scholarships totaling $13 million and 1,146 students took out student loans totaling more than $7.1 million.

Including all undergraduates (11,211), 6,788 students used grants or scholarships totaling $46.3 million, and 5,407 students took out $35.9 million in federal student loans.
