63 percent of applicants to Valdosta State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Valdosta State University, 84 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 63 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Valdosta enrolled 11,211 students in fall 2018, including 8,700 in undergraduate and 2,511 in graduate programs, data shows. 9.7 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

78 percent of undergraduates are residents of Georgia, and 21 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (47 percent) and Black or African American (38 percent).

The school admitted 63 percent of the 6,557 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 40 percent enrolled.
