Raymond Wilkes McKinnon was born on November 15, 1957, in Adel, Georgia. He grew up in a small town that would shape his future. McKinnon later graduated with a degree in theater from Valdosta State University in 1981. He began his acting career, appearing in films such as Apollo 13 (1995) and O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000). His work expanded to television, with notable roles in Deadwood (2004) and Sons of Anarchy (2011). In 2001, he co-founded Ginny Mule Pictures, which produced the Oscar-winning short film The Accountant. McKinnon also ventured into directing and writing. He wrote, directed, and produced the film Chrystal (2004) and created the acclaimed TV series Rectify (2013-2016). McKinnon’s work often highlights his connection to Georgia. His career achievements include winning multiple awards and earning nominations for his acting and film work.
